How color tiers work

Same-tier parents
Two parents in the same tier normally produce a child one tier higher: T1 + T1 → T2, T2 + T2 → T3, T3 + T3 → T4, and T4 + T4 → T5.
Adjacent-tier parents
Parents one tier apart can produce either the higher parent’s tier or one tier above it. For example, T3 + T4 can produce T4 or T5. The higher result is not guaranteed.
The game chooses a color from the resulting tier. It does not mix parent colors like paint.
How to get Tier 6 seasonal animals
- T4 + T5: a small chance of Tier 6.
- T5 + T5: a chance of Tier 6.
- T5 + T6: a higher chance, but not guaranteed.
- T6 + T6: guaranteed Tier 6.
The seasonal appearance is based on the season when the parents receive their treats, not the season when the baby is born.
How long breeding takes
Once both treats are accepted, the baby’s sex and color are locked in. Birth or hatching happens four in-game days later. Coop animals then take 3 days to mature; Barn animals take 5 days.
Color Tier is not Production Tier
Color Tier changes coat appearance and rarity. Production Tier comes from heart level and changes product quantity, bonus-drop chances, and golden products.
Why breeding failed
No stork icon?
Recheck species, sex, maturity, 2-heart minimum, shared housing, empty space, and same-day treats.
No baby yet?
Allow the full four-day pregnancy or incubation period.
Unexpected color?
The pairing determines a tier, then randomly selects an available color inside that tier.
T5 + T5 did not make Tier 6?
That result is chance-based. T6 + T6 is the only guaranteed Tier 6 pairing.
