Fastest reliable farming route

- Take the mine elevator to floor 40.
- Check floors 41–59 for artifact dig spots.
- Break every dig spot with a pickaxe or shovel.
- If a floor is empty, continue down or leave and begin another run.
- Keep the first two Faceted Rock Gems you find.
The gem is an uncommon artifact. The game does not publish a guaranteed number of runs, so a dry streak does not automatically mean your save is bugged.
Look for a dig spot, not an ore crack
The Faceted Rock Gem comes from an artifact dig spot—a small mound or disturbed patch on the walkable floor. It is not an ore node and it is not a crack in the rock wall.
If you have been breaking only ore, slow down and scan the floor itself. Either a pickaxe or a shovel can excavate the spot.
Is floor 42 guaranteed?
The confirmed location is the full Deep Earth range on floors 41–59.
Improve your chances
Unlock Stoneturner
Stoneturner allows artifacts to drop from ordinary rocks in the Deep Earth, giving you more useful targets on every run.
Unlock Museum Quality I
Museum Quality I improves the chance of finding uncommon artifacts. It can make the hunt more efficient, but it still does not guarantee a drop.
Why you should keep two
One Faceted Rock Gem is required for Breaking the Fire Seal, together with Rockroot, Emerald, and the Sealing Scroll. A second copy is needed for the Museum’s Deep Earth Artifact Set.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Faceted Rock Gem bugged?
No reliable source shows that a normal dry streak means the item is bugged. It is simply uncommon.
Should I use a pickaxe or shovel?
Either tool can excavate artifact dig spots.
Can normal rocks drop the gem?
Yes, after you unlock Stoneturner. Without that perk, prioritize artifact dig spots.
